Ascend

I look up into the sky, and some days I don’t know why
I live in the present, but I know it can be stolen away
 
So just ascend, don’t go down
Get up, don’t bring me around
Go … I said ascend
 
I don’t pretend to know everything that I know, but what I know is true in front of me
I make my own decisions based on what I see
 
I can go down or I could go up.
I could break down or I could look up
Oh I understand what’s in my head
That is so much better than the alternative
 
In your mind
All the time
In my mind, in my mind
Know my mind
Know my place
All the time
Born in time
I see it all
 
I look up into the sky
But I don’t really know what I am looking for
I know it’s just up there
I know it’s right out of reach
But I see it clearly fall into my speech
 
I must stand here … and ascend.
